I recently bought my first truck. After much research, I settled on a 2000 tacoma access cab 4x4 (TRD Offroad). The truck that I bought had way more mods than I was expecting to buy, but it was a good truck at a good time.

The previous owner said that they didn't do much to the truck, but the original owner had all the mods done. Basically, it was a lady that lived in the country that had a bunch of stuff done to make it look better.

I was told that it has a 3" body lift and a 3" suspension lift. I can see the body lift easy enough, but I have no idea about the suspension lift.

What should I look for to determine what sort of lift was done to the suspension? Should there be brand names on anything? Part numbers?

I'm also kicking around the idea of removing the body lift, but it's probably way more hassle than it's worth. Are there any good reasons why I should or shouldn't do this?

if done correctly, body lifts are fine on toyotas. any more than 3 i would suggest taking it off. and like fla yota said get some pictures of the front/rear assemblies

I'll try to get some when I get home from work. I did go down and look at it, and the back looks stock to me, but it's not lower than the front. The front has a spacer looking thing on the top of the strut that says Revtek on it.

well add-a-leaf systems are very resemblant of stock setups so those are a bit harder to tell, as for the front though, you just answered it yourself. you're running revtek's spacers which is most likely 3". we'll wait for pics to confirm though
