Help identify this?

The part with the green x is where it the leak is coming from.
Can I repair or replace that part or the circled part without replacing the whole rack?

What are these parts called?

By the way the pic is borrowed.

The area above the circle is the Immediate Shaft Assembly.
The circled area is the Steering Gear.
The Haynes book I am refering to says no, You do not remove the rack.
I would almost guarantee you cannot get parts for the steering gear and as such you would be replacing the assy.
Highly recommend if you replace the gear yourself, Get a book!!!
But if you saving money I can scan the pages and email them to you.
