I have been thinking about selling my yota for a fullsize chevy. It just seems that bigger is better. Chevys have more power and seem a lot cheaper to maintain. I need someone to slap me in the face and bring me back to yota land.

any chevy that doesnt have a solid axle up front sucks! there ifs system is really the least durable in the truck field..... the s10s, i know - mini truck, had and still have even worse ifs than anything! honda civics have a more durable front end then the s10

What do you want to use it for? If you need to haul/tow big loads then you should get a full-size truck. Maintenance may be cheaper (though I wouldn't count on it), but if you get a V8 remember you'll be paying a lot for gas.

Make a decision based on your own personal needs!

There are reasons why the depreciation on domestic full sizes is so high 'eh. :rolleyes: Sure parts are cheaper but you will find yourself replacing more of them, especially if you take chevy IFS off the pavement. That an more power always equals more money. Fuel costs for a heavy V8 truck will more then offset how expensive you feel your Yota is to maintain. If you need a fullsize then great, but make sure that it is a solid axle.

Why not a Tundra then? Much more reliable and holds its value better.

I've had a few full size GM trucks over the years, including my 05 Duramax. I never had any major problems with them... just the occasional annoying nickle and dime issues (usually the "common" ones that everyone has). If you decide to go for it, go for a diesel... the resale value is very strong, more than offsetting the initial higher cost and the fuel economy very good (I've been getting 17-18mpg in the city and the engine is pretty green with only 1500 miles on it)
