My outlets dont work. Can someone help me. I dont know where to start.

check all of your fuses and all of your connections. i have had mine come unplugged and it stopped working. thats what i would do first

X2 start by checking the fuses running those accessories

Your three outlets (two in the front and one in the cargo area) are on one fuse. The cigarette lighter is on a different fuse.

This happened on my Tundra. After lots of trouble shooting I finally took it to the dealer. Mine was a relay that keeps the aux outlets hot for 2 hours after you shut the truck off. The relay was located on the back of the fuse block. My dealership charged toyota $600 for the job..yikes... thank goodness for warranty.

I had my cig lighter outlet stop working on me, and after checking EVERYTHING, including fuses relays and wiring, I finally pulled the cig lighter socket itself, and took a closer look. Upon close inspection, on the back side of the outlet has two metal rings (like washers) that are insulated from each other with a non-conductive washer. Then there is a small wire connecting the two. In my case, the tiny little wire connecting the two was completely melted inside the insulation. I just pulled it off and soldered in a tiny new little wire, and all was good again. I find it odd that the wire fried before the fuse blew.

this is a common problem ( i have the same thing). ricky's post is the solution. there is a wire (almost like a trip wire/surge protector) that burns out if something is plugged in and burns the "pre"fuse before tripping the 15A fuse.

Me too. I just recrimped the wire at both ends - problem solved. Oh by the way, I was using a compressor to inflate my tire when it blew. Lots of luck.

You need to get behind it and unscrew the big nut/washer looking thing from the back. Unscrew that, unplug the wires and you will be able to remove the cig socket.

Thanks Reyno. I saw another thread about how to get behind it, i.e. open the console, but it wasn't real clear. Do you have any advice (or a link to another thread) about how to "get behind it to unscrew the big nut/washer looking thing"? Chris
