help!! bleeder valve is stuck

i am pressure bleeding my 99 4runner sr5 right now and I could not get the bleeder valve to open......I put a little PB blaster on it and decided to ask the forum while I wait for it to penetrate......I am turning the valve counter clockwise but i am afraid I might over torque and break the thing.

Those bleeder valves are also made of weak metal. Definetly get a 6-point (not 12-point) socket on that sucker (10mm). I would use a short breaker bar, and get that leverage to turn very slowly. PB blast it for a little.

Also, if you have a propane torch, it helps to heat it up for about a minute or 3.

good choice on the PB blaster, that should help loosen it up. i just did brakes today and cranked on the bleeder valves pretty good after some PB and they came loose without breaking.

Use a set of vice grips and get it all the way out then replace with new valve....It has been the best solution for me yet....just make sure the reservoir is full and that u have the new valve before hand.

I dunno about the torch idea...remember...brake fluid is flamable.... I only say this cuz I have seen ill effects from doing it.
