Hi everyone,

I am experiencing hugh power loss after my 93 22re 4x4 pickup warms up. It gets really bad and is almost unsafe to drive. It seems to get bogged down only after it warms up, however the temp gauge remains normal.

I replaced the exhaust from the cat back, but had to remove the cat. I am wondering now if I put the cat on backwards. Would this matter?

Could it also be the O2 snsor? Or is it something worse? I here the valves tapping, but I thought that was normal 22re engine music.

Any ideas would save me a trip to the mechanic and be greatly appreciated.

Do you try to adjust the Throttle position sensor(TPS)??
It's simple and your truck symptoms point on this direction.

I did play with the TPS earlier. That is how I stopped the surgeing I was experienceing. However, I stiil noticed a loss of power during the surging problem. I read the article on the TPS and now I am wondering if I really messed everything up.

Any thoughts on a bad cat or O2 sensor anyone?
