Hello Everybody
Just like to say hello to everybody and send a few pics of my ride.
I just recently dropped in a Chevy 350 due to my poor 3VZE blowing the head gasket for the 3rd time. Hope the pics come out.

MERTZTR, I'll try to get a sound byte for you as soon as I figure out how to post it, took me an hour just to figure out the picture thing. Thanks to corey for the pic help.

Hey Billy,
I think the only way you'll be able to actually post a sound clip is if it is 1. zipped and 2. less than 50,000 bytes.
It would probably have to be posted to a web site.

good gawd, how did i miss this?!!?
while i have no clue on how you actually accomplished this, i am always amazed when one can drop in an engine from some other vehicle and make everything work.
we need to see more pics.
what kind of bull bar is that?

I noticed a few tech questions out there, well here it goes. Believe me I researched the hell out of it before the attempt was made. My goal was to BOLT everything in without haveing to cut the firewall or move the radiator support. The majority of componants came from advanced adapters and NorthWest Offroad. There is a 3" body lift that was required for the headers to clear or else I would have to cut a lot of sheet metal out from the fender wells for clearance. I installed a 4 inch suspension lift 2 years prior so at least that was out of the way. The transmission was moved 3 inches to the rear therefore the front drive shaft was lengthened and the rear was shortened about 3 inches. I also cut the center console support and moved it 3 inches to the rear and welded a 3 inch extension for the shifter whiche came with the body lift kit. An oversized 4 core radiator was ordered thru downey offroad. All of the AC componants have been removed with the exception of the AC fan in the very front. I went to the junkyard and picked up another one so its 2 fans in front of the radiator and a mechanical fan in the rear, now I can cruise around in hot weather and not have to worry about overheating issues. There are 3 major componants that will be addressed over the summer 1. Transmission 2. Transfer case and the rear end. Eventually they will all be taken care of soon but until then I will enjoy the funny looks I get from people when this thing comes idling by.
By the way this entire conversion ran me about $6000 bucks which is about the same price as a rebuilt 3VZE engine (at least around here).........almost forgot to mention that its an ARB bull bar.

what parts did you keep from the original engine? alternator? anything else?
took out the AC eh? must not be hot there. i need my AC here

the stock power steering pump was really the only thing that is still there. New bracketry and hose adapters helped plus it was great that these parts can be purchased from toyota specialist. It does get really warm here but I just roll down the windows and all is well (til the bugs fly in)

I wont get transfered for another 2 years. I'm hoping to go back to the great NorthWest but I have a strange feeling that Alaska may be in my future. There is a place in Southern California that does V8 conversions whiche are smog legal, mine is not. I think they do it for $16,000 bucks.
