header questions
has anyone come in NC or CA not passed emissions due to having headers?
I found a set for cheap from a friend and I was wondering if it was worth my
while to get them.

It depends on who makes the headers whether or not they'll be legal.
If the header manufacturer went through the trouble to get a California Air Resource Board Exemption Order (CARB EO), there should be no problem with the headers. If they did get the EO, the headers should've came with a decal and/or documentation showing the EO number. If the previous owner doesn't have that, you should be able to contact the header manufacturer and request them send you the information. If they didn't get the EO, you can go through the referee / mediation system in California and get the headers exempted if they find that the header is not negatively affecting emissions.
