Any mounting suggestions for this roof rack?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows which roof rack this 4runner has. I like it especially because it is mounted close to the roof, so it looks really streamlined. Would anyone know how to accomplish this. If not, anyone know whose Runner this is so I can get in contact with them? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks!--AB

I found this: http://www.everythingsuv.com/bvg_adv..._rack-esuv.asp
I'd say the rack on that truck looks really close to this one. They main thing is how is it mounted though?Any ideas how it's mounted so close to the roofline? I definitely want my to be low profile. Any help again is apprecited. Thanks!

looks like this one:

i used to have one and liked it. i sold it cause i never used it anymore. it was a VERY good basket for the price. i had it mounted on the factory rails, so it was taller than that one, but you could easily fab up some custom brackets for a low-profile mount if you wanted.

I live close to Roger Brown, so anything is possible! So what did you have in mind for custom brackets? Not sure where they could secure to, besides drilling holes in my roof , which I am trying to avoid. A clue as to what you had in mind would be great, I am limited on imagination for this one.
Thanks for your reply.--Pam

use the factory rails, make custom bars from 1x1 box w/ 1/8" wall and a mounting tab from 3/16" plate at each end. use the factory "rib" attachement points for the 3 support bars, then use U-bolts to attach the basket or fab up some brackets and studs on the bars to hold it on.

FWIW, thats Breezey's old 4Runner, pre-SAS, pre sale of bentup bumper. http://toy4runner.com/

I was going to say, that rig would look sweet with a solid front axle. Nice.
With a rockwell it looks like.

Certainly looks like the proline. I have one and I think it is good for the price. For the gas roof racks cost, and the infrequency that I use it, I was NOT going to pay huge prices for a Yakima or Thule to mount on my bars.
