Has anyone tried to mix oil?
I was just wondering about the best oil debates here. What if you were to mix one quart of each of the "best" oils together. Would they react to eachother. Maybe break the molecules down? Maybe turn to sludge?

Won't hurt anything. EVen mixing viscosities works fine, just average the viscosities of the oils and make sure the result is the right stuff! Probably nothing to be gained from it though - assuming their advertizing claims are true, you probably wouldn't get enough of any one companies "additives" and "enhancers" to get the claimed benefits, but I've about come to the conclusion that those claims are all bull anyway.
I use the cheapest 'name brand' oil I can find with the correct rating and weight, and change it more often. (Buy it in the big jugs at Walmart.) I think the benefits of getting the accumulated contaminants OUT of the engine far outweigh the dubious benefits the oil manufacturers claim.

I was wondering if the additives might cancel eachother out of react in someway like bleach and ammonia.
One company might use "X additive" another will use "y additive" and yet another would use "Z"
Just curious.

Got me. I can't imagine it though, or there would be a danger from changing to a new brand since you can't get all the oil out of an engine when you do an oil change.
