Has anybody with my same setup done the Tundra Brake Conversion?
Hey guys,
I'm thinking of installing some Tundra Brakes on My 98 4Runner. It has 16" Procomp Bullet Hole Wheels. Has anybody with my same setup done the Tundra Brake Conversion? I'm looking for someone who has specifically used Tundra Rotors and Calipers with Procomp Wheels.
Any help you can give, would be appreciated!

Well, here's what I can offer you for info. My friend had black 16"x8" procomp alloys with 4" backspacing (the ones that they sell at Wheeler's Offroad) on his '99 Tacoma, as you can see in the picture below:
He was running the large size Tundra Calipers (13WL) with no issues before he sold them to me to install on my 4Runner. I didn't try his wheels on the 4Runner after I installed the brakes, but I can't imagine how it would interfere on one vehicle and not the other, considering the wheel placement vs. rotor placement is identical on both vehicles. The only thing that might be different and might cause issues is the angle of the caliper when it's bolted on the 4Runner vs. the Tacoma.

Thanks for your info......my wheels are similar, only with an aluminum polished finish. It sounds like it's do-able......anybody else have any input?

I believe they are the 1069's with 4" backspacing, thanks for the info! I'm planning on maybe doing this mod in the spring, so when I do, I'll definately post some pics of the process!

Well for what it's worth to ya, if you check out my tundra brake conversion, I have a 1998 with factory 16" wheels. If your procmps are the same as our OEM wheels then it is a simple bolt and go. Check it out here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/0...runner-146160/
