Gray wire mod w/ stock option

So I was looking around to see if there was any way to add a rocker switch or something for this mod so you could either have the option of the 4low (stock) or the 2 HI 4HI. I guess the switch isn't necessary but I found this thread and it was kind of interesting.

Sorry if this has been on here somewhere I used the search function

Cool thanks for letting me know. I think I'm going to do this tomorrow I like the idea to be able to switch it back to stock for winters and such.

So I went ahead and did the mod today. I did use the SPDT switch like the thread I posted (found at radioshack, $3) and i obtained 4 feet each of three color 18 ga wire. I still think that even though the post used this, the gauge is actually 20, unless the guy cut the wrong wire. Either way, it worked like a charm. The switch took the most work because there were two layers of plastic i had to dril through, which made getting in there tough for larger hands.

Gotta say, like everyone knows, a very simple mod. The switch, when up, can activate the locking diff in 2/4HI and 4Lo. When the switch is down, it is exactly as stock. I did this so during the winters here in Montana, I can just keep it stock since I don't see myself using a locking diff on snow or ice.

Took it out to test, and flawless so far. I was pretty thorough on all my connections, so I hope is stays this way.
