GREAT junk yard find!!! HELP!! WHAT SHOULD I GRAB!!!!

ok guys.

FOund a 86 automatic, TURBO 4 runner at the junkyards.

I have an 85, 5spd, 4*4. I am almost 100 percent sure the doors are the same shape.

The turbo 4 runner has POWER windows!!!! Is there anyreason why i cant,(or shouldn't) buy them for 60 bucks, and put them on my truck? They will fit right? I cant see a reason why i shouldn't do it....
Do you guys???

Is there anything else i should grab from that 4 runner!!???(other than the seats with ADJUSTABLE bulster and seat hight???)I already got those, but don't know what else i should grab!

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Check first to see that your wiring harness will accept the power windows. Different harness' were used according to the options that were on the truck.
Or grab the wiring harness

grab the front fenders, rear gate inluding glass, rear gate relays (located behind the drivers seat behind the inner panel i think), the fan relay and slide assy, front and rear bumpers, interior switches on the console and the computer from behind the passenger footwell kick cover. i say grab the body parts because they are an easy swap if yours are at all rusty and can be very hard to come by. the rear window relays can be a pain if they are malfunctioning so if you have a complete unit you just swap it over. provided you have a place to store all of those goodies of course!

Does it have the digital dash? That would be cool to retrofit in my rig. (hint hint)

I second that. You could swap over the turbo & manifold to your engine, assuming you have EFI.

I don't think you'd be able to simply swap over the turbo/manifold because the 22RET had additional oil galleries cast into the block to feed the turbo. I believe there are changes to the coolant passages as well. Also, the higher compression ratio on the 22R/RE will make the swap less than desirable using the turbo. It's better to just take the whole engine including the harness/ECU.

Take the dash pad if doesn't have any rips or tears in it. Take the center console if equipped. Take the rear side-glass windows on the lift off canopy. That is, unless you can get a good deal on the whole top. I'd take the aluminum wheels too if they're in good shape. Take the tilt wheel steering column. Definitely take the clinometer and the gauge package if it has one. The optional digital clock is another good thing to get because it swaps over very easily. Most Toyota PU's of this era are factory prewired for the digital clock.

i'm pretty sure the block just has an extra hole for oil to drain drilled into it, but not totally sure. i know the heads are hard to find, though. as for the turbo, leave it there...it's a piece of junk

i thought the turbo engines have oil squirter's either drilled into the rod or into the block with a nozzle for piston cooling, not entirely sure though

It should work on it's own, the wires will just be for lights i think. You can wire this is to the circuit for the cig lighter light or a dash light as well maybe.
