when i bought new tires at discount tire, I left there, drove down the access road and noticed a vibration, u-turned, went back and had them re-balance. I repeated that 3 times before I gave up and went to the dealer.

I do not even know what the FJ has on it, but when I got new tires, Les Schwab just did the regular tire balancing, and the muds ride as smooth as the stock tires did.
