we have a couple yota lamps laying around, but I chose to use a GM LED light from an 01' Blazer because it looks much better then the tacked on looking yota peice. 3 holes,a little silicone and some soldering, and she's done.

Looks good...

A flashing one in the trailer hitch works well too.

ATP, when you're done, post some pics. I have the spoiler too and have been contemplating this mod. I'd like to see how it turns out.

3car, looks REALLY good! I've been thinking about adding a 3rd light and because the factory one looks tacky I kept putting it off. I thought about putting it inside also but then it has to be mounted flush against the glass to prevent reflection. This is definitely an excellent option. How much did it cost? Did you have to do some trimming to fit the contour of the roof?

3car,

i'd have to say that this is one of the better mods i've seen for a 2nd gen in a looong time.

you MUST do a write up and have corey post it in the tech section.

Question can you add a 3rd to a 2nd gen truck?

I love this one! I’ve been thinking about adding a 3rd brake light to my 2nd gen pickup for safety reasons and the fact that I’m ordering a fiberglass bed this week. How hard would it be? I would need to find the wire running under my cab and spice into it then run that up through my side panels and under the head liner, then drill through the cab and mount the light, right? Does any one know what wire I need to look for on an 88??!! I will go to jail the day I get rear ended by some biatch in a BMW because he wants to chat on his cell phone and not watch where he is going! "from experience " I don’t think a fiberglass bed would like a hit like that very much!

It was free for me. I work at a large auto recycler. I doubt you would pay over $15-20 at a local yard.

No trimming necessary, it fits perfectly.

These lights were used on Tahoes and Suburbans from 94' until 00' (i think 00'), baby blazers from 94' to 02', and I believe astro vans from 94, but im not sure.
