Getting used to my new '99 4Runner, Found small issue.
Hey everyone, love my new 4Runner!!! Now that I've been looking it over more I did find one blinker lense that's broke.
Yes, I know you're thinking I should've noticed something like that before I bought it, but let me tell you.... The first time I looked at it, I thought it was gray because there was so much frost on it. It's been a little chilly around here.
Anyway, I've tried searching for people with parts but I'm just running across old threads. So do you know anyone whose parting out a 3rd gen? I'm looking for the clear front driver side blinker lense (located down on the bumper). I haven't even had a chance to look... Can the lense be changed out, or is it one whole unit?
OH, By the way, I found a thread about seat covers on here, but now I can't find it. Is there a cover that fits the front seats nicely? I tried two different ones today from decent parts store, and neither one fit well.

Thanks. Closest dealer is up in Anchorage. I can call them and have them sent down (and verify if it's a seperate unit). I'm not used to low priced things from Toyota! This may be the first item...
(They quoted me $59 for just a wiper arm for my '88. I found a pair on here for $10!)

you have to replace the whole housing, not just the lens, or at least thats the way it is on my 00. and although it might appear as if it is clear with an orange bulb, there is an orange reflector on the inside with a clear bulb
For seats try wet okole

This is what you get when you don't check your blinker fluid ofthen enough.
I got synthectic in mine to help with these problems.
I would check yours right away, it sounds like you are real low!

Looks like a rock put a hole in it and all the fluid ran out of it afterwards. I checked my other one and it was a little low. I just always put a mixture of oil and antifreeze in mine. Keeps them lubed up nice and they will never freeze.

I got some seat covers for my 99 off ebay, www.seatcoverconnection.com. was the vendor. Used them for my subaru too, much better fit than parts stores.

hmm, perhaps the 99 is one unit. Im not 100% sure. I do know that the 96-98 are in pieces.
Either way, check local yards or the dealer. That part is pretty cheap.
You can also check Toyotapartsales.com which is toyota of dallas. They sell stuff at about 30% off list price, and can ship.

These are my cheap ebay versions which are 3 years old now and truthfully they aren't really any thinner than the OEM version and I got the pair for $27 shipped. They've been through 3 winters and even submerged a few times and zero cracks or leaks.

I looked on toyotapartsales.com and it looks like it may be two units. $27 for the lense, $35 for the mount. I'll call Nye Frontier up on Anchorage tomorrow and find out. I can afford $27 so I'll just get the real thing. As for salvage yards, not many up here. Something I just found out was I was out on their page (http://www.nyefrontier.com/) and they have their own performace group. Where they will do lifts, bull bars, tire and wheel packages right at the dealership. Looks like they use quality stuff too. Always good to know...
Those ebay lights you bought. Were those just the blinkers or do the fog lights come with them. I don't have fogs on mine. But that's a different thread to start at a later time...
Thanks everyone!

Haven't looked for the Toyota equivalent, but here's this:

And it's Hella, so that could be a cheap little upgrade.
(Another bookmark for things to do when it warms up some.)

Yeah, I saw that. I would guess the wiring harnesses are all the same, so it's nice when things are plug and play. Even said it has a Toyota switch, so it will look nice mounted.

If mine ever have issues or for just the hell(a) of it I might get that kit for as cheap as it is.
I use Hella Yellowstars H3 in my fogs and they actually work in the fog and rain now. I had a set of Silverstars in 'em and while the light output was considerably more they still didn't do much in the wet and I needed a yellow light output for them to do anything and it was a nice upgrade and under $30 shipped.
