Question Gentex Compass/Temp/Auto Dim Mirror Questions

I searched, and found a fair number of install/retrofit threads, but not so much troubleshooting threads.

My temperature display starting suddenly showing OC, which the info sheet says means an open circuit on the temp sensor. No wires appear to be loose, and occasionally it will display in Celcius, but it won't flop to F to save me.

I ordered a temp sensor from Mito , P/N 50-9RT1H833 linky but did not know if anyone had any experience with fixing these here.

Mito is somehow linked w/ Gentex - not 100% clear on how that relationship works - and they tell me that this P/N for the sensor is the same across the line.

Any ideas ?

If not, free posting for the sensor P/N.

Cool Sensor came in.

The truck, however is at the house today.

FYI - the other number on the paperwork is 473001 - that is probably the Gentex P/N where the 50-9RT1H833 is the Mito P/N .

Mito's phone # is (800) 433 6486.

I talked to an ex mechanic this morning & he tells me that when these sensors fry out he has seen the exact symptoms I described, so I hope tonight I will prove him correct.
