A funny thing!
Well I got a little hungry for a donut and drove up to the local Krispy Kreme tonight, I get to the window and the guy asks me if I want to sell my Runner and if so how much I would want for it. Gosh dang! are 4Runners that sought after? Well anyhow I just thought it was funny. I have never had anybody want to buy a car form me that did not have a for sale sign in the window.

That is how my dad bought my truck back around 1989. He asked some guy if he wanted to sell his truck. The guy said that he is moving and getting a company car so he will sell it to him.

we used to have our old 86 aerostar sitting in front of our house, it was a tough van, but had years on it.. this was probably aroung 98 or so when this happened, but i washed it once a week, and every week whenever i was outside, some mexican guy kept driving up and asking if it was for sale....

i had a guy ask me if i was interested in getting rid of my runner. he said he was looking for a black late model year runner and that the dealerships were asking too much. i said, tough luck, i havent even had her much more than a year.

I used to have people ask me if I wanted the rust on the bed fixed all the time... Does that count?
Seriously though, it is a pretty cool deal to get a "is it for sale?" question. A guy at my school that had an 84 with 35" tires wanted to straight trade, I was like... ummmm no... your truck has 140K more miles than mine and you were just talking about how the alternator is on the way out.

Never happened to me.
I think most people out here are too into lifted Silverados and F-150's. Lifted 4Runners just arent as "cool" out here. But I like it that way...

That's what I've noticed here in San Diego too - there are those that you can tell do go offroad and then there are the ridiculously high and seriously gas guzzling trucks you need a ladder to get into that will never see more than pavement and the occassional wet field.

A mexican "landscaper" came to my front door to drop off a flyer for his business, and asked if I wanted to sell my truck. I said hell no. Why would I waste a perfect Toyota off-road machine by letting it haul lawn mowers and gardening equpment?

That happens to me in the Flamed truck just about every day. I quote a price - everything I own is for sale, you just have to want it more than I do... But they never seem to have the cash....
