Full-size spare or not?
well it looks like within then next month or so im going to be upgading tires to 33x12.50x15's from my current 32x11.50x15's. now my question would be, do i want to go out and buy a full-size spare? my issues with it are for 1. fitment. i dont know how well its going to fit in the stock location. and if it doesnt fit i dont really want to carry it in the cargo area. so i guess what i was thinking was to keep one of my current 32s with the best tread on it and use it as a spare. what do you guys think? should i use the 32 as a spare or just get the 33?

i dont see any harm in going cheap. but what do i know? hopefully you wont need to drive hundreds of miles with the spare. i imagine the handling would suck, and you could do damage to the other tire(s) with too many miles. but the control arms etc are pretty bomber.
when you replace your first set of the 33's, keep the other two around for dual spares, baja style. chau-

i do wheel, at least once a month, and my tires have started to look pretty chewed up since the last 2 outings or so.
Scofco, they are MT/R's, if you want one of them i can sell it to you, but i think shipping from CA to the other CA might be a bit hefty...
oh and i will be getting MT/Rs as the replacement if any of you are wondering.
also, what should i do about mounting the spare? im not 100% sure it will fit there without a body life, and im really not willing to add a body lift.

my fullsize spare(a NR78 buckshot, around 32" or so) is a bit of a tight squeeze under the truck. only has about 3" on each size to clear the shackles and springs it seems

I have really bad luck with spares. Got 5 flats in one month when driving around south america, two flats in one weekend at a friends backelor party offroad.
Am currently carrying three mounted spares, two matching OEM rims with matching tires, and my crappy spare which is too rusted to get out from under the truck...

Look for a used 33" for a spare. People usually give them away or sell them dirt cheap when they get new tires. Plus since it will be worn down you will have a much better chance of fitting it in the stock location. You could even look for a 33x9.5 or 33x10.5 if you are worried about it hanging down too far.
