Fuel Injector Maintenance

What (if any) is your fuel injector maintenance protocol?

How many miles/years do you have on your fuel injectors?

In those miles/years, how often (if ever) have you had them professionally cleaned? Replaced?

Do you use fuel injection cleaner? What kind? How often?

Interested in this as well.
Just hit 90k in my DD, nothing has ever been touched. I might try a bottle of injector cleaner next tank, see if it helps my fuel mileage.

well, the strongest injector cleaner and your best bang-for-the-buck is redline si-1 injector cleaner. it has the highest concentration of polyetheramine (PEA) and it's what i recommend. use it every 10k miles and you should be OK.

I'll have to try this next for preventative maintenance I have been running the Lucas with some decent but unverified results. Still working on the Lucas gallon so it will be a while still.

322,700 on the original injectors. Never touched. I typically dump a bottle or two of Techron in every year. That's it. Starts, runs and stops like it did in 2001.

I use Luca's by the gallon. Good stuff. I did a tear down on a 5.7l SBC and it was very clean below the injectors. That however did not save it from a stuck exhaust valve.

215,000 on the original injectors. A bottle of techron in the tank and run it out before the oil change. The engine runs very strong.

I had my injectors serviced at 160k trying to get rid of a miss at idle that wasn't throwing a missfire code. Here's a link to the company. http://www.rceng.com/Fuel-Injector-Cleaning-P43C0.aspx

There was an improvement after cleaning. But the true cause was the coil packs.

I'm currently running a can of Seafoam through the tank and some through the crankcase which has worked well for me in the past but I had no specific complains from my injectors – just doing some spring cleaning. I'm looking into and will probably try out Royal Purple's cleaner:
Amazon.com: Royal Purple 11722 Max-Clean Fuel System Cleaner and Stabilizer - 20 oz. Bottle: Automotive Amazon.com: Royal Purple 11722 Max-Clean Fuel System Cleaner and Stabilizer - 20 oz. Bottle: Automotive

I am very impressed with RP's products and the reviews are outstanding for that specific product.
