fuel injector change

fuel injector change

hey all

i have a 22-re with about 170,000 miles on it. should i replace my fuel injectors or have them cleaned?
if replace, then what brand is best?

We had 180K on ours and had them cleaned. I brought them in to the Vo-tech college and they did it on the same machine the high priced guys used. Cost me $10 an injector, but I didn't get that fancy print out of the flows. They told be they were all equal. I also had the cold start injector done.

Hey Dave. What Vo-tech did you go to. I think i'm due on my injectors.

Renton Vo-Tech

I had an evening class there couple years ago, I asked the instructor and got them back a couple days later. They used the ASNU ultrasonic cleaner, and did the new O rings and nozzle caps.

Unless it's not running right I wouldn't bother. Just wanted to say another option is RC engineering in California. The turnaround time is very fast. I think I sent them off monday and had them back by Friday. Can't remember the cost, but I believe it was a little more than 10 dollars. You get a chart showing before and after flow amounts.
