Front Suspension Noise... help!

Allright, no one seems to know what this is, so I'll ask you guys...

My gen 2 4runner suspension makes this noise... it's like a really loud short burst "creeking" noise when I am both turning AND the suspension is flexing, i.e. when I going over a curb. It started after I had the mechanic replace the cv boots I think.

I can reproduce it reliably by cranking the wheels all the way to one side and popping the clutch real fast, then it wont do it again unless I turn the wheels the other way. However, the wheels dont have to be turned all the way, but to reproduce it reliably I turn them all the way.

Any other ideas on what this might be? To be more specific about the noise... it's a loud "creeking" noise, but violent enough that is sounds almost like a popping noise at first. I feel it through the steering wheel.

Put some grease on your steering stops. I had the same problem and same with probably most people on this board. The rubber bushing wears out and metal grinds on metal= that horrible sound.

Ohhh... I noticed that the steering stops were warn down to the metal... but would that make the noise even if I'm turned half of the maximum?

IT WORKED! Put some bearing grease on the steering stops (4 of them) and the noise is gone. Thanks!
