front makeover

I finally got some parts to fix where my dad smashed into the front of my 'Runner. I am excited. I bought a valence off of ebay. I also ordered some clear corner and turn signal lights. Unfortuantley, my bumper is the grayish color and my valence is black. I am not so sure how its going to look. I think i might get my bumper painted black because i know that it will look cool with the clear turn signals. Do the bumper and the valence just bolt on?? That is how it looks when i looked under my truck.

So just thought i would share because i am excited!

They bolt on. Pretty easy to take off. Especially the valance. Black would look good. I've been thinking about going black on mine too, but I probably won't. When you paint, just be sure you have a good, clean surface to paint. Maybe even prime it...

I'm not sure about how to go about painting my bumper. Is it something i can do myself, and how would i do it? There is a spot where the paint is starting to come off. Would i have to peel all the paint off to the bare metal and then prime and paint???? I dont know

Thanks!

Well, i am going to see if the autobody class at my school can help me out with undenting my bumper. My valance will not line up because my bumper is bent in. I am thinking that it might be cheaper to buy a new bumper online(know any cheap places, most i see are about 50 bucks) and then use the end pieces i have and get those painted black.

I just replaced my valance and grill yesterday.I paid $18 for the valance and $40 for the grill( both aftermarket).I got some plastikote spray paint(pepboys) and painted the valance-i think it turned out pretty good.I had to pull the bumper to remove the valance though, the screws go in from the top. Also my grill must be for a pick-up(i have a runner)because it was hitting a fan(for the a/c).Nothing a few min. with a hacksaw didn't fix.I'd go with a bumper.
