Seems like the guy has done a considerable amount of work... but it's pretty much 2x the price of any other '89. What you guys think?

If it had a 3.4L swap I would have already bought it.

$8300 is a helluva lot of $$$ for something that is nearly 19 years old... Remember, you're buying the car, not so much the parts.

Yes, that is true to an extent, however I disagree with you. Having been pricing parts for the build on my Trekker project I would consider this to be a good buy. I would say that the $8K in reciepts is an honest statement. He used quality parts and looks to have done a nice job building it right.

I would say jump on it and have a nice ready trail truck. I miss my '86 4Runner that I had both the hard and soft tops for..best of both worlds. Good luck at the bank.

Not that it matters in the context of things, but those are not 1989 doors. Or are those? The interior door panels and the vent window by the side mirror are not indicative to this year. Everything else indicates 1989... but I figured since its an SR5 like the one I owned, I would think those would be the same. I would of guess those kinds of doors would of been on the earlier models. Not a big deal but curious.

Even the 1989 in this picture doesn't have those windows and that looks like a 4-banger since it doesn't say V6 on the grill.

And for the 88 model it says:
Small vents windows on doors go away.

Yeah, I meant in the brochure in that link i posted...doesn't have a v6, which meant to me neither 4 cylinder or v6's in 89 had the vented windows.
