Fog Light Stalk Pinouts?

So I recently decided to put in a snazzy 4-spoke leather wheel from a newer 3rd gen into my 96, and the scrapper ended up sending me the entire steering column with wheel attached.

It came with that headlight stalk that has the fog light rotary switch on it. I'd like to utilize this to trigger my fog relay.

They actually had to send me two columns because the stalks on the first were trashed by UPS. So I have all 3 stalks the 4Runner could have come with. A 96, a 99 and a 99 w/fog switch.

All 3 have the same pins coming from the actual plug receptacle. The 96 harness plug has 9 wires; the 99 has 10 and the 99 w/fog switch has 11. I added pins in the empty slots of my 96 harness plug for both of the missing wires. The wiring diagram in the FSM shows a BLACK/RED wire as being a trigger for the fogs, but I can't seen to get it to provide current.

Anyone ever use this stalk on an older 3rd gen? Any input on the wiring.

try testing for continuity... I know that Toyota likes to have switches provide ground points rather that positives for some of the relay triggers. I've done this before but honestly cant remember what it was

You are going to need to get ahold of the electrical drawings for the '99 to see what connectors, ground blocks and connections that were used by that column to determine where and how they are rigged to activate the relay. Once you can see where they go and what they do you should be able to replicate what you need to make it work. I used the electrica drawings for my 98 to determine what I needed to hook up my power leather seats and power for my overhead DVD player. I discovered a power source location in the rear seat area which is used for other options that my truck did not have so it allowed me to install pins to utilize the tap. Its fortunate that plugs were the same so now all you need to do is determine what/where those two extra wires feed to. good luck

most likely ground(-) when ON for that extra wire for fog. get a DMM and test it out.
