Hello everyone,

I rarely post as there is so much information on the site that i rarely cant find what i am looking for. this site rocks! I really like the new FJ that is coming out, but I dont need a truck and an SUV. I have an 04 Taco. Do you think it would be worth trading in the taco for an FJ? I am leaning towards keeping the taco as it is virtually paid for in full and does everything I need. I do like the idea of having extra interior cargo space that the FJ provides, but maybe a canopy would be a better choice. Let me know what you guys think and any input is appreciated. My taco is below.

As a fellow DC owner.... I say keep the Taco. You might wanna wait untill the bugs are worked out of the new FJ before buying one... Get a snugtop or a canopy if you feel like you need more "interior" room. For me, I like having the bed (even being a "baby bed") of the truck for hauling stuff. I think you'll be happier keeping your Taco... But that's just my 2c...

I would agree with Tacoclimber. Especially when I see your words: "...it is virtually paid for in full and does everything I need".
I struggled between a DC and a Runner myself, and there are many times I wish I even had a baby bed.

thanks for your inputs. after more thought I am pretty sure I am going to kep the truck. its only got 20,000 miles on it and a canopy would be more than sufficient to put that extra ski gear. This season i have been running into some space issues when i pack 4 people into the truck to hit the slopes because everyone has extra clothes and boots and stuff and that makes for a tight fit. the skis and boards go on the rack, but everything else is piled up on laps of passengers. i can also see how even a baby bed can be useful. i guess i can always take off the canopy if i needed to use it.

I have dealt with the same issues... One of the things I like to do is put everything in the back untill we're almost there, then bring the boots, etc. inside the cab so they're warm. When I go surfing I have a lumber rack that is very easy to take on-off (I'm a longboarder - 9'0" Becker ). It also helps if I need to actually carry any lumber. I know a guy who has a DC Nissan that he put a topper AND rack on. He's got the best of both worlds... The FJ sure is cool, but I think I'd stick with my truck if I was in your position.

definitely keep the double cab! it's paid for, and if you got a camper shell you'd have a lot more space.

plus double cabs look sweet SAS'd

Will do.... Yeah, it's a lot of miles, but it's worth it... (usually)
