Fixed My Tailgate Window!!!
I have had this broken for more than a year now because I didn't know enough to fix it and I was not paying anybody to do it (too poor). Today I got it working again. I would like to thank 2 Yotatechers, Lee (FyrefighterEMT) and Dragr1. I got a gear for the window motor the other day from Lee for free! Unfourtunetly the problen ran deeper than that gear. The metal drive gear on the outside of the motor itself was stripped. There was a groove worn right in the middle of it, no wonder it didnt work.
I then used some advice Lee had posted about mounting a motor upside down to make it fit. The ultra cheap and top notch condition window notor I had gotten from Dragr1 earlier was incorrectly oriented for the rear window (my fault, not his) but after flipping it 180' the motor fit and bolted down easily. I reconnected all the clips on the wires and gave it a try. Only one problem, up is down and down is up on the switch. Oh well, it works better than my door windows now. I will just relable the switch. If you have any rear window questions, ask away, I learned a lot about that darn thing.
Once again, thanks to Lee for the gear and the 411 and Dragr1 for the great motor at a great price.
