A few problems with My 95 Tacoma

I'll just start of telling what all has been done to the truck and then i will address the problems. Engine was rebuilt about 8000 or so miles ago and in the process i replaced the plugs and wires, distributor, distributor cap and rotor button, fuel filter, ignition coil, and a valve which i cannot remember the name of. After the rebuild the truck was driving unbelievably well and had a ton more power than i expected from the old thing. Well... the other day me and the bud went and hit the mud holes and now im having some problems. The truck feels really sluggish at first and then its like it catchs a breath and takes off and runs fine, but then the problem will pop up again at different times. Any ideas what it could be? Another thing is now i've got a leak coming from my rear axle around the drive shaft or the seal...not sure which yet. Could it be the bolt coming loose or the seal gone bad? AND ANOTHER THING... The Aisin manuel locking hubs are super hard to turn (to the point that i cant turn them at all when its cold) What do i need to do about those? Any help would be appreciated.

not sure on your motor problem probably water in something? grab your dshaft and try to wiggle it by the diff, if there is play the nut backed off if there is not the seal is bad, and the hubs take them off, real easy to do, and clean them and regrease. youll be happy you did.

Thanks. Looks like it the seal thats the problem. And i was thinkin about the engine, would a MAF sensor cause that and an idle problem?

Alright guys, another question. I have a cold air intake on my truck and i was searching on here and it seems that they gum up the MAF sensor. What would be some side effects of that? When i try to start it in the morning it will crank for about 5 seconds and do nothing, but usually starts on the second try but has been gettin worse here lately. Along with that it has an odd idle to it where it will go up then down up and down then plain out if i give it a little gas. And with that i also have the problem of the loss of power as i push on the gas until i throttle it wide open then it takes off. Does this sound like the MAF sensor, Throttle Position sensor, or what?

How about some info on the truck.. What engine do you have? Tacoma or pre? Did you suck mud/water into your intake? How's the inside of the air tube look, muddy? Take the MAF out and clean it, it only takes minutes - that could cause those issues.

Sorry, i had it in there but went back to change some things and somehow left it out. Its a 95.5 Tacoma with the 2.7. The air filter doesnt appear that dirty but i think i'll clean it anyway. Couldnt hurt. Thanks for the help
