Factory 4runner Limited Woodgrain question

Has anyone had any problem with their FACTORY 4Runner Limited woodgrain? Peeling, fading? The grain wearing off? Any problems at all? Especially after 2-3 years?

The FACTORY limited woodgrain is the plastic looking stuff that is not stuck on, but is wood looking. It is not the woodtrim that sticks onto the dash.

Thanks

Mine looks new as when the car was purchased but there is always the option to upgrade and add trim for your woodgrain. I got a set from http://get.to/burtmanindustries

I had an SR5 with the stick-on woodgrain, I don't know if that's what you're talking about or not. But if it is, HELL YES I HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT!! It was the crappiest stuff ever. Before having it 2 years it was fading. Finally this year It was cracked, faded EVERYWHERE (i don't mean a tiny bit, I mean it was YELLOW) and so I pried it off (major PIA because the tacky stuff was so old and hard), sanded all my dash pieces, and painted it because I chipped the dash trying to get that crap off. Don't bother.

Jason has great stuff if your dash is looking a bit on the ragged side now.

But thanks for the input.

I have a '96 Limited and it looks like new, including the door switch trim.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I do want to get rid of it and get black in place of the woodgrain.

My brother has a 97' and his looks bad.

I guess it's sun damage. He's had it in the Florida and San Diego sunshine. Seems like it is coming off and fading at some of the corners.

Yeah, for me it was the sun. It was taken good care of. But again, I have the SR5 toyota stick-on woodgrain. What's different about the limited? are you sure there is a difference? I don't see how it could be...

There is a HUGE difference, it is night and day. The if you have stick-on stuff, it is just that stuck on, the Limited has the wood looking pattern and color imbeded in the plastic, there is nothing to peel or come off. The "optional" factory wood is stuck on at the dealer, apparently that is the stuff that peels and people are not happy with. The limited wood is actually part of the piece and cannot be added or taken off without changing all the panels.
