What year did they stop putting manual speedos in the pickups, and start putting in the electronic ones?

Bump. My '91 is cable- I looked at swapping a cluster out of a '93 SR5 and it was electronic...somewhere around '92 or '93 I would guess.

That's exactly what I'm looking to do. I just want to make sure if I buy one from eBay, or wherever, that it'll work. I do know I have to change out the oil sensor to an oil sender. Thanks guys.

I have a 94 4runner 5spd SR5 with an electronic speedo. My dad bought part of the interior out of what he said was a 95 auto 4runner (thats all I know right now about it) and its cluster had a cable speedo . I'll try to find out more about it, but what I'm saying is, you might have to look at more than just the year.

If anybody can do a vin # lookup, and wants to look into this, let me know and I'll dig up the #.

I'm planning to add a full gauge cluster after I get out of school. I added an Autometer tach by tapping the diagnostic wire by the fuse panel under the hood. Like you said, the oil sender will be different, but I think the rest is fairly easy. I think there is a writeup on how to do it. Good luck and give a report on how it works out.
