I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, just trying to clarify something I read somewhere else. I am in the market for a 96-2000 4Runner and I want a 5 speed and an E-locker. I read somewhere that the E-locker was only available in the Limited 4Runner, which only came as an automatic. Is this true or was that a bogus reference?

Bogus. I have a 5-speed with a factory e-locker.

I looked at about 10-15 4Runners before I bought mine and more than half of them had the locker. 5-speeds are a little harder to come by.

I also have a 00 manual with the e-locker. It is not a limited. I did not get the limited because it typically runs about 2000 dollars more.

Thanks for the info. Hope to join the 5 speed & locker crowd soon. Then hopefully you all be as helpful when I start building it a little bit. I have read tons of threads already and I am glad to see such a knowledgeable group on this forum. I partially fixed up an FJ40, so I am not new to doing build-ups, but I need something for the family now and thought a third gen 4runner would be best. Thanks again!
