Driveshaft ?s and fitments from other models

first off, can anyone come up with a list of models that share the same driveshaft parts (like double-cardon joints, and flanges ans whatnot) as a 96 tacoma x-cab?
does manual or automatic matter front or rear?
v6 or 4cyl matter either?

also. i am about to cut off my spring perches, rotate the pinion up a few degrees and weld on my new perches from marlin.
now i came across this article http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/driveshaft/
and i became alittle concerned that rotating the axle wont solve my vibration problem. can anyone give their opinion so i dont waste my time cutting and rewelding it twice?

thanks
-derek

you can shim the rear axle so you dont have to cut and weld.
