Door stuck
I have a 97 4runner and the drivers side door won't open. It seems like the lock is stuck. The knob won't come all the way up. Does anyone have any ideas. I dont think I can take the door panel off, unless I break it.

Time to pull the door panels, not 'too' hard, just take your time. You will have to slide the seat back and forth to work around it. Better yet, unbolt the seat and get it out of your way.
It will be a PITA, but its cheaper than hireing someone.
Besides, think of the experience you will gain, the knowledge you will aquire, the bashed knuckles you will bandage......er....just be carefull......

hey tim!
there is a little spring that cycles the latch/lock mechanism attached to your strike. you will have to pull the door panel and you will break the little pin clip up near the dash. take out the drivers seat to make things easier. you can probably pick up a strike from a local wrecker to salvage that spring from. if you order it from the dealer, you have to order the entire strike mech, $$$! when you get the used strike, you will see how everything works. it should take only seconds to replace the spring and no more than an hour, start to finish.
