Does anyone know on a 3rd gen 3.4L which of the 2 hoses on the lower radiator is the recirculation/output line for the tranny fluid?

On my '02 the hose on passenger side of radiator is from the tranny and
the one on the drivers side goes back to tranny or in my case to the TRD cooler.

Detach the hose on the right/passenger side of the radiator at the radiator.
I did the DIY flush last year, its a piece of cake. I ran a total of 16 quarts thru, 2 at a time.

16 quarts/bottles of the Mobil 1 variety, around $80....

Geez id like to stay with AMSOIL but mobil 1 is alot cheaper.

How did you do this? Did you run them through using a machine?

First of all, you need to drain the transmission pan (you should then remove the pan so that you can clean the particle magnets located in the pan and so you can clean or replace the filter screen. After that is done, reinstall the tranny pan, and top up the fluid.

Then, disconnect the tranny fluid return line coming from the radiator, and place that in a collection bucket. Start the truck and let the tranny pump out approx 1 quart of fluid into your bucket. Shut the truck off and top up the fluid in the pan again. Repeat this until you have gone through your 16 quarts. This will replace essentially all the fluid in your transmission.
