Did only 3rd gen Limiteds come with 4.30 gears? Or were they offered in SR5s too?
I do know the e-locker was available in both but seems to be more prevalent in the Limiteds. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it to spend the extra on a limited.
Thanks

It's 4.10 for the 5 speeds according to the spec sheet and 4.30 for the ECT automatics and that's what threw me.

You edited your post at the same time as I typed up mine, haha! So, you have the 4ECT auto, right?
Which makes me wonder, do 5 speeds even have factory e-lockers as an option?

And the link was under "Highlander Info" but like you said it was just a general list and the list you posted looks like the right one.

I wonder if Toyota made them 4.3's because they realized if people bought 4Runners with e-lockers that they wanna go off-road with bigger tires (slightly bigger) or just because it was cheaper for them to use 4.30 as an e-locker was easier to fit on those gears. Also, did they have e-lockers for manual transmissions? Hehe...so many questions came up all of a sudden. Sorry.
Edit: Sorry if I high-jacked this thread a little.

Oh well...so I guess they kept the gearing @ 4.10 for manuals and upped them to 4.30 with automatics. XAWDriver: About that one site where he lists the specs of his truck, I think he just made a mistake by listing the e-locker as an option and forgetting to change the gear numbers. No one is perfect

No, it was not only an option for the Limited's. I purchased a 96 SR5 as a donor rig for my e-locker swap. Much to my surprise, it contained the 4.30 ratio. That makes me one of the few 5-speed 4.30 owners out there now.
