death of POR-15 (headers)

Per subject, I haven't heard much about POR-15 lately. Reason why I'm bringing it up is that i'm thinking forward to some headers. Would anyone care to compare contrast POR-15 v. powdercoat for headers?

Does it matter if I have a POR-15 on-hand from several years ago v. paying for a powdercoat?

Thanks for the tips.

What happens to POR-15 when it is heated to 1600*F?

It is just my guess that it will make one hell of a mess.
