Davis unified ignition question

Does anyone have any experience with the Davis Unified Ignition system for a 20R - 22R?

i know dui is awesome, but i jsut want to add, that the toyota oem ignition is pretty good, and if you arent running a highly modified engine, you are probably not going to see much if any improvement

I have hurd complaints about dui.Never owned one.I have run msd on two vehicles.One a 87 4runner.Gave it a little boost.Cleared up a miss it had.Hope it helps.

It won't be crazy built, but it won't be bone stock. I have a 1980 that I have shut down to install a W-56 trans and like always I am getting carried away.

I have a 32/36 Weber on the stock 20R manifold now. I will be installing the Offenhauser dual port intake and a NWOR header with 2 1/4" exhaust. I haven't decided on a muffler yet, but probably a Flowmaster. I will probably have oversized valves installed and run some kind of mid range cam with say 260 or so duration and about .440ish lift. Nothing crazy in the bottom end. Whatever it takes to machine everything back to spec and just quality parts with a high volume oil pump.

The stock distributor I am running now has some wear in the shaft and gets oil up inside it. A few months ago I put an internal regulator alternator from a 92 4Runner on the right side of the engine (where the old air pump would mount). I am thinking that I will make up a wiring harness for the engine so that everything goes into one plug and put it on the right side. I already deleted the voltage regulator and some wiring from the left inner fender and I thought by using the Davis distributor I could delete the coil and clean the left side up some more.

I am more into function than looks, so I want to make sure the Davis is a good unit before I commit to the idea.
