dash problem

dash problem

hi guys ive done my bulb replacement on my dashboard but when i reinsatlled the instrument cluster the odometer doesnt work everything else is fine the rev guage fuel guage speedometer etc it just wont register the mileage going up. what would the problem be?

Sounds like a stripped gear in the cluster. Did you roll back your odo? lol

did nothing but unplug the connectors and replace the bulbs.

I would assume you didn't connect a harness back together tight enough, or something simple.

all is connected up nice and tight.
@scuba that would be a good idea if i knew what the problem was.

i don't remember on my '98 but isn't there an actual cable for the speedometer or is it all electronic? i just remember on my '85 celicas that it was an actual cable or maybe that was for the odometer, sorry i'm not help. all i can say is take it back apart and see if something is loose or not connected and plug it in and try before putting it all back together again. what year and vehicle do you have?

mine is a 1997 ssr-x automatic diesel.
