I think I read that you can get oversized or extended boots to put on so they don't keep ripping. Is this what everybody does?

Btw, I do have the differential spacers.

So you are running with an extreme CV angle and you are ripping boots? Lower the front down or get a diff drop kit is the answer to that question. The boots tearing isn't the worst thing about that, just wait till you blow the whole joint for the real problem.

I've got the differential drop and they still ripped. I don't do much wheeling either.

Would like to get some kind of extended cv boot kit so this doesn't happen again, just can't seem to find one on google.

They are OEM, they definitely are in need of replacing that I have been putting off for too long.

I'm at work now so can't take a picture.

just put my 3" lift with the same problem. of course the boots are old and in need of replacing was going to just replace the axle as i've read its easier. i would also like to know if there are heavy duty boots i can stick on there to prevent future tearing. and like op i have diff drop also

Mine ripped after I did my toytec ultimate lift with diff drop. My mechanic and I chalked it up to the fact that the boots were 13 yrs old and all they needed to rip was just the little bit of change introduced. I chose to replace with new axles as the boot that ripped was the inside boot. By the time I paid for labor I could replace the axle for just a little more, so thats what I chose to do. As a nice benefit the new axles totally got rid of my high speed shimmy.

see T4R.org. I believe members over there have encountered this. DUhockey is a great guy and may be able to shed some light.
