Compresion for a 22re

I was wondering what is the ideal compresion range for a 22re? Mine is about 75 to 70psi, is that good?

Uh, I thought good was 160+...my 85 22RE tested at 165+ all 4 cylinders....sounds like yours is going kaput...

70=bad
170=good

I recently tested the compression on my truck and I had about 175-180 across the board.

You can just buy a cheep gauge and do it your self for about $40 less. That's what I did. Takes 2 people though.

You can do a compression test by yourself.

Just remove all the spark plugs and thread the compression tester into one cyliner. I usually set it on the motor so I can see the dial because the first crank psi is just as important as your final crank psi. Hold the throttle WFO and crank the motor at least 4 revolutions making sure to see what the first crank reading was.
