Coils and Springs on a 2wd

I am looking for help deciding which coils and springs to go with. I have searched a plethora of posts, but most pertain to 4wd vehicles. My rear coils are toast so I want to replace them, but I thought while I was at it, I would replace the shocks too. My question is if I change the rear shocks and springs will the back ride a bit higher than the front? Should I replace the fronts while I am at it? Which setup would you guys go with? I am looking for any suggestions I can get. Thanks!!!

Tell us what kind of look/ride you are trying to achieve, and then we can give you some suggestions from there.

if you put new coils/shocks in the rear and don't touch the front, yes most likely the rear will ride a lot higher than the front. I would reccommend you just do the whole thing.

Since you're 2wd, I don't know if you read this in one of the old posts or not, but you can use the coils from 4wd 3rd Gens and get about an inch lift I believe. And usually people are only looking to get rid of them so you can pick them up for like 50 bucks!!

As for shocks, I'm not sure what to reccommend to you because being 2wd, I doubt you go wheeling a lot, so you won't need the hardcore shocks or anything. I dunno, guess you could still go with OME. But then you just might as well get OME coils too

found this while doing a search. Nobody replied to his thread so I'm guessin he still has them sitting around. I dunno, you can probably get them for a good price. Start a thread in the classified wanted section, and also check out 4x4wire and ask there too. it should be a pretty easy find.

I'd sell you my springs cuz I'm upgrading, but my rig came with standard 15" wheels, so my coils are a tad bit lower than the ones you can get that came on rigs with 16" wheels.

good luck!!

Steve,
Have you had the recall done on your Runner?
If not, I think replacing the springs is part of it.
Call your Toyota, give them your vin, and they'll tell you if it applies, and if it has been done.

saintsteve,

Where were you about a week earlier? LOL

I have listed both front and rear coils on eBay and they both have been sold for ~$60 plus shipping...

As others have recommended, try to post in the "WANTED" section and a pair will pop up eventually.
