Coil Over Lift Kit for 3rd gen Runner
I'm just about to pull the trigger on ordering a lift kit for my '98 limited 4runner. I'm looking mainly at the Toytec Ultimate Coilover kit and the BOSS Coil over system.
Anyone have any experience with both, or good input on the difference between them. I plan on this being a daily driver rig, but also taken of road a couple times a month. I'll be running 285/70-17 Duratracs.
Any input on any other lifts I should consider?

Well ultimately I want something that is going to give me as much of road capability, while still driving about 90% of its miles on pavement. Cost isn't too much of an issue if the price is well worth the performance.
Is there a too thread that breaks down the differences between some of the lift options?
Any and all input is appreciated!

Just my $.02 - we have one of each of the lifts you have mentioned in our local 4Runner group. I've ridden in each.
-The Icon is the best for soaking up bumps and jumps at high speed.
-The ToyTec (although is was the Ultimate, not the BOSS) is a great lift too. No complaints.
-However, my vote goes to Sonoran Steel. Great flex and by far the best on-road ride. (this is what I'm saving my nickles for)
Whatever you decide give us your full report once installed!

If you have the stock UCA then the flex (front) of the SS 1.2 won't match the complete IVD system because the the stock UCA and UBJ will limit the flex (front).
However, you can replace the stock UCA with an IVD UCA and still use the SS1.2. Then it should be able to match the flex (front) of the complete IVD system.
For the rear, the SS 1.2 has better flex than the IVD because the SS 1.2 has longer shocks and coils. BTW, IVD does not have rear coils for the VZN185L 4Runner. IVD recommends instead the OME coil which is shorter than the Toyota LC80 coils that are used on the SS1.2.
