coil over installation cost
What should a shop charge to install a 2.5" coil over kit (e.g. Cornfed, Revtek)? I'm talking about a complete kit--spacer, AAL, rear shocks, BPV. Local 4x4 store quoted me $230 for the Daystar kit (w/ shackles) or $750 installed on my Tacoma dcab. Just curious if that is fair or if are trying take advantage of me.

Welcome newbie
If you really want to learn more about your truck, you should try doing it yourself.
Installation of a lift (spacer/aal) is relatively easy. I would definitely suggest a "Wrenchathon at - yourplace" subject and see who is willing to come by and help you out. If you provide some grub and a place to do the install, people will come!!
Autozone rents out coil compressors so that's all you really need to be able to install spacers in the front.
Full install takes approximately a few hours with a couple of guys working together. Definitely one way to meet some great members here and also learn about your truck at the sametime.
If you're hesitant, I'm sure installation shouldn't be more than 100-200 bucks? I mean with power tools it should take more than 1-2 hr so you do the math.
