code 10

i thought i would try you guys out here. i have lurked here for a while. i have been tinkering with my toy for a couple of years now.

heres my question. yesterday i checked my computer to see if anything was wrong with the engine. and a code 10 came up.
the manual i have didn't give any indication on what to look for and what to fix.

this is one an 85 4x4 truck with the 22re.

thanks

Here's the only info I could find on OBDI codes: http://hondata.com/techecucodes.html

But I'm not sure if you're even OBDI since you have an 85. You might try posting this on Pirate since there are more people with older trucks over there.

if anyone knows anything about how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. no one on the pirate board seems to know anything.

Are you SURE it's code 10? Also, it's Fuel Injected, right?

I'm looking for code 10 and cannot find a reference to that code.

It should be an OBD I TCCS system.

Some more info about the engine would be helpful.

I found it:

Code 10 - No Starter switch signal to ECU, with speed at 0 and engine at idle, defective speed sensor circuit, main relay circuit, ignitor switch to starter circuit, or ECU

Pull the EFI fuse to reset the codes and see if it pops back up.

Hope this helps.

well i finally figured out this code 10 thing.

i ran over to the dealer ship and talked to a tech that has been working on yota since 1985. he said to replace the relay under the hood in the black box next to the battery. i went to the junk yard and got one for $5 and its running fine again. he also said it is very rare to have a computer die on a toyota. he has only had one die in the whole time he has worked on them die.

anyway i figured someone else might get this problem someday and need the answer so here ya go!

thanks
