Clutch--Done--O2 sensor Done but wait...
So i spent the weekend replacing the clutch in my 97 4Rnr and for the most part it went ok--until i had to use the rented trans jack. the head was sooo sloopy we ended up having to man handle the darn thing--exactly what i didnt want to do.
Anyways--Put a Downey in and though they are supposed to have a high clamping force it feels much easier to push in?? HMMMM. i guess because it is just a better design?
The other problem is that i used an O2 sensor with a lead that was about 3 inches too long (anybody ever have that problem LOL). Anyways--focus Henry-->next thing i know the CEL is on and i thought the replacement O2 would take care of the pinging-->becuase maybe it was being lazy and that was causing a lean cond when i pressed the gas--but it didnt.
From what i know--the actual sensor is pretty standard right and the wires being shorter/longer do not matter. I will do the searches and see what i come up with. And yes the Downey grabs well

From what I see you have a 1997 4runner 5-Spd V-6.....4WD?
Here's where you can look up what sensor part number you should have gotten:

Funny you would say that-->i got it from URD. They sent me the wrong one. However, i had so many projects going on that i just didnt mail it back. So when i compared the two--the only difference was the length of wire. So because they have those universal ones where you just splice the wires i figured the sensor is the same and the wire length is the only thing that it different. We are all supposed to have the same CO2 levels coming out right?
I think the problem is more involved than that--will get a code reader and see "what her says".
Thanks for the link and not to mention now i have the upgrade bug!! LOL

On the O2 sensor, they are a bit more complicated than that so it would be good to know what sensor you actually got and installed vs what you should have gotten.
