Cig Lighter Wires?
Does anybody know the color is which? I assume the black stripe is the ground but... since I don't have a volt meter I can't tell for sure. I'm hooking up a aux cig lighter for my new GPS (I'm going to leave all the wires under the dash though). I went to the nerd shack and was plesently surprised at the kit they had made up. And at a good price too. It was under $7 and its got a rubber cover and ready for flush mounting or it comes with a little bracket (ugly, but if you needed one it would be handy). I was ready to just buy the metal piece and have to cover the thing in electrician's tape. anyway, back to my question... what wire is which behind the dash for the stock cig lighter. Or if you have any better suggestions let me know. I just tried using another wire last time I tried hardwiring and ended up with the power for the rear wiper (it turns off with when the rear window isn't all the way up so now my radar detector turns off when the back window goes down )

just pick up a wire tester for about a buck or so at harbor freight...saves a LOT of headaches. just make sure you tap into a switched(acc) wire, such as the radio

Yeah, the problem is that my dash is apart now, and its 9pm. I'd really like this to be done tonight, but I guess Its going to have to wait for tomorrow.
