so i am new to the forum, but have been in a toyota since i started driving. i bought this truck from a friends dad for 3000 and figured it was a pretty good deal. 1999 sr5. i have already removed the running boards and nasty chrome trim. 140k everything works. figured i would introduce myself and get some opinions. the 92 2wd is nearing 300k and is a great dd back and forth to school. enjoy. tony

I like the nasty chrome trim.
Sounds like you got an awesome deal... first thing to do (now that the running boards are removed) is to change all the fluids unless you have service histroy of this being done.

yeah, i am working on the fluids. it had a full tune up (whatever he meant by that) last year about this time and the timing belt was changed when i got the carfax. going for an oil change in the morning and i have come to realize that the gas gauge stops working at half a tank.
planning on taking it to some trails for the first time sat. i am very new to "wheelin" so we will see how it works. feel free to throw any advice.
