84pickup

Just got an 84 pickup, and want to get it up 2-3 inches quick and easy. I can make basic parts, and would rather do that than buying. I know I can do longer shackles and/or blocks in the back, but what about the front? I've thought I'd lower the spring perches, but what will I run into with the steering linkage etc? And, if I'm not sure how much above stock height the truck ends up sitting, how do I order shocks? Does anyone know where the stock height is measured and what it would be? I'd like to hear from anyone with that truck, what they've done with their suspensions. Thanks.

if its a 4x4 with a solid axle you should be able to get lift shackes for it as well

Oops, yeah its a 4x4 with solid axles. I didn't think you could do longer shackles in the front. Maybe thats a DMV thing where I am.
