Carpet Cleaning?
As a result of my leak...My carpet smells moldy. After I fix the leak I was thinking about getting my carpet shampooed and steam cleaned. Has anyone done this? Is it effective for that kind of stuff? Do they take out your carpet and clean it or just do what they can with it in the car?

It would probably be best to do it in your vehicle. The whole taking the carpet out makes me nervous, plus there is no benefit to doing that. Just do it in it. Make sure that after it is shampooed, that you air it out to get it good and dry before you put the mats back in. Goodluck! :fireman:

When I bought my '91 back in '98, it stunk like big dog
I use this spray stuff every few weeks to clean my interior called Tuff Stuff in a yellow pump bottle.
They also make a carpet cleaner in a spray can.
I used the cleaner first on my fabric seats and all the carpet with a scrub brush.
They I used a mini steam cleaner that I had picked up from Sears.
Looks just like the big Rug Doctors that you tow behind when you clean your homes carpets.
Using the combo of the two it got everything real clean and best of all, no more dog smell.
Total time to do both jobs was problaby less than 90 minutes.
I'd try that first before having it removed.

You can probably save yourself some money and do it yourself. Go out and get like a Green Clean Machine or something to that effect. Something that sprays on a cleaner and then vacuums it off. Get some good carpet cleaner and go to work. I am sure that you will do as good of job as a cleaner, and then you have the tools and supplies to do it again! Check that out! :fireman:
