Cargo Bay power outlet mod write-up

Hi,

Am planning to add a power outlet to my cargo bay which didn't come with one.

Has anyone done this mod before and is there a write-up for this mod?

Also, can anyone post a pic of their stock power outlet in the cargo bay? I checked the rear of my panel and there is no outline where to cut. Guess it was not an option for the 96 model year.

Also if a measurement from the lower and outer (towards tailgate) edge of the panel to the edge of the outlet garnish could be included so my outlet can be properly positioned

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry I couldn't find the measuring tape. I used a cd to try to show you relative size.

The rear cargo outlet was a mod I contemplated on my 95. I had the rear quarter interior panel out of a wrecked 98 and the insert with the outlet but never got around to fully attempting to implement it. I was also looking at mounting the rear cargo cover brackets but could not figure out how to make mounting points for them. I had found the cargo cover at a yard sale for (don't cringe) 25 cents! Anyway it could be done and if you have access to the cutout and could make a template, installing would not be that difficult. Just have to run the wiring to connect it up and a fuse block to protect the circuit or utilize an Auxillary fuse panel, another gr8 mod by the way.
